The EDC is tasked with providing essential economic development services:

• Promotes and advocates for public policies that encourage and give orderly direction to economic development while supporting local businesses.
• Functions as a liaison between local, county, state, and federal agencies and private sector businesses.
• Provides business support through business loans, information on potential resources, and access to business counseling services.
• Works on priority public projects identified on the Community Action Team list and assists with finding resources to develop those projects.
• Participates in regional economic development efforts that identify priority challenges for local businesses and strategies to address issues.
• Collaborates with Port of Skamania on business development opportunities and challenges.
