About Us

Welcome to the Skamania Economic Development Council (SEDC)! Since 1985, we've been dedicated to nurturing the economic vitality of Skamania County. As a private non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, our mission is to define, support, and promote initiatives that enhance the county's economic stability and growth.

Our efforts focus on three key areas:

  • Retaining Existing Businesses:  We provide the resources and support needed for local businesses to thrive.

  • Business Expansion: We assist businesses looking to grow, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities for success.

  • New Business Development: We foster an environment that welcomes and supports new ventures.

To achieve a diversified, balanced, and healthy economy, we coordinate the use of both public and private resources. Our work is backed by strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including the State of Washington’s Department of Commerce, the City of Stevenson, the Port of Skamania County, and Skamania PUD.

Additionally, we administer several loan programs to support local businesses. These include the Washington Investment Fund loan program and two micro-loan programs, one funded privately and the other through the USDA Rural Development department.

Join us in our mission to build a vibrant and prosperous Skamania County!
